Provides beta-carotene, vitamin A precursors and fibre, and its satiety value suits small treats during weight management.
1-2 small cooked pieces per serving (up to a tablespoon for a small dog), keeping treats within about 10% of daily energy intake.
Always steam or bake, then peel and mash or cube, with no sugar, butter or spice (candied sweet potato must not be fed).
Raw sweet potato contains trypsin inhibitors that can cause diarrhoea, and the skin is hard to digest, so remove it.
